As Title IX Coordinator, Dr. Chelsea Jacoby serves as a leader within the Dean of Students Office and the Division of Student Affairs, overseeing the College’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and other federal and state laws addressing sex- and gender-based discrimination, including sexual harassment and related misconduct. In this role, Dr. Jacoby provides strategic direction and leadership in policy development, training, prevention, and response, ensuring a campus environment rooted in equity, accountability, and care.
She is responsible for coordinating comprehensive education and awareness initiatives for students and employees; guiding the College’s disciplinary processes in matters implicating Title IX policies; and monitoring legal and professional developments to align institutional practices with evolving best standards. A hallmark of her leadership is her experience facilitating resolution processes that incorporate restorative practices, offering parties meaningful opportunities for voice, accountability, and repair. In addition to formal investigative and adjudicative processes, Dr. Jacoby has developed and overseen informal resolution pathways that reflect restorative justice principles, balancing community safety with compassionate engagement.
Dr. Jacoby earned her Doctorate in Education from Rutgers University–New Brunswick, her Master of Science from Kent State University, and her Bachelor of Science from Merrimack College.
