Janae Schallert, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in co-response, behavioral threat assessment, and law enforcement–embedded crisis intervention. With extensive field experience alongside police, Janae works at the intersection of mental health and public safety, responding to high-risk incidents, conducting behavioral threat assessments, and developing collaborative strategies that prevent violence and save lives.
She serves on her department’s Crisis Intervention Response and Hostage Negotiation Teams and has led multidisciplinary efforts addressing violent threats, human trafficking, and complex behavioral and mental health crises. As a Department of Homeland Security Master Trainer in Behavioral Threat Assessment and founder of Schallert Consulting, LLC, Janae provides training and consultation to enhance co-response models, improve crisis systems, behavioral threat assessment responses and strengthen community safety through coordinated, trauma-informed approaches.
