Director, Title VI & Title IX Coordinator, University of Maryland, College Park

Angela Nastase, J.D., is the director of the Office of Civil Rights & Sexual Misconduct and Title VI and Title IX Coordinator at the University of Maryland, College Park. Nastase is a nationally recognized civil rights expert and senior administrator with a demonstrated history of working in higher education, K-12 school districts, international relations, and the education risk management industry. 

Prior to her current role, Nastase served in leadership roles at George Mason University, Marymount University, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. As a former risk management consultant for United Educators, she developed and delivered national training to higher education administrators on civil rights compliance, investigation and adjudications best practices, policy development, and institutional risk management strategies. 

Nastase is a former K-12 teacher, a current Advisory Board member of the Association for Title IX Administrators (ATIXA), and holds a J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and a B.S. in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
