An ATIXA Tip of the Week
ATIXA’s 2026 Winter Symposium is an opportunity to step out of the day-to-day demands of compliance work and into a community of collaboration, expertise, and shared purpose.
From February 23-27, 2026, in sunny Orlando, Florida, enjoy a cohesive week of certification training designed to deepen your knowledge, sharpen your leadership, and re-energize your approach to Title IX, Title VI, and related compliance topics.
Hear from ATIXA’s 2025 Winter Symposium attendees on why you should attend in 2026.
Learn from the Experts
The 2026 Symposium offers 17 ATIXA certification courses, led by expert faculty members who bring clarity, context, and practical knowledge to every training.
Selenseia Holmes, Title IX Coordinator at Valdosta State University, completed Title IX Coordinator Foundations Level Two: Sex Discrimination for Higher Education and shared:
If you haven’t been trained by ATIXA, have you really been trained? There are others who do a good job, however, ATIXA is my go-to. I always feel excited to share what I have learned with those at my institution. Not to mention the supplemental materials that are always provided. It’s almost like having an additional team member, which is greatly beneficial to those of us with small offices.
Samantha Rabinowitz, Title IX, EEO and Employee Relations Specialist at the University of San Diego, completed Investigation Foundations for Higher Education and wrote:
Joe, Alisha, and Max were all fantastic presenters. The material was easy to understand, the flow made sense, and the three of them were all engaging. They brought real-life examples and made them applicable to what we were discussing on a given slide.
Krisshunn Youngblood, Director of Campus Compliance and Civility/Title IX Coordinator at McNeese State University, completed Title IX Compliance and Athletics for Higher Education and reflected:
Topic, updates, and training material are on point. I’m excited about updating my binder. Scott [Lewis] made it very comfortable to talk with him and ask 1:1 questions.
HR Professionals, This Symposium is For You, Too!
Polly Masga, Director of Human Resources, Title IX Coordinator at Northern Marianas College, completed both Title IX Coordinator Foundations Level One: Sexual Harassment for Higher Education and Title IX Coordinator Foundations Level Two: Sex Discrimination for Higher Education in 2025. She highlighted the best-practice guidance ATIXA offers:
As an HR professional, I look to the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) organization for HR guidance. I feel that ATIXA is at the same level of SHRM, where ATIXA is the Title IX guru organization. This is my first ATIXA training, and I was very impressed with how the information was given. Title IX is super complex, but the presenters were able to clearly explain technical details and step-by-step process. I also appreciated that the presenters allowed for engagement via email for any questions we didn’t ask during the training. Overall, great job!
Athletics Professionals: Do Not Miss This Event!
Krisshunn Youngblood added:
Every [Athletic Director] AD, Athletic Compliance Officer, NIL [professional], and coach should take this training and/or be receptive to the training the [Title IX Coordinator] TIXC brings back to campus. Well worth the money, and it is worth being a Super Member with ATIXA.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
This year’s symposium is a joint event with NABITA’s 2026 Winter Symposium, which is being held concurrently in Orlando. This collaboration allows Title IX professionals to train alongside colleagues in behavioral intervention, threat assessment, case management, and mental health, dismantling silos that often separate compliance and care. By attending both ATIXA and NABITA sessions, teams can align their processes for more efficient, compassionate responses to campus and school incidents.
Selenseia Holmes also said:
Having a joint event with NABITA was great. Being able to get case management information while also earning another TIX certification was essentially a 2fer.
The Power of Community
Civil rights compliance is rewarding and complex. It requires constant adaptation, compassion, and courage. Most importantly, it demands a supportive community of individuals who understand the work.
Polly Masga also shared:
As a first-time attendee, being surrounded by like-minded individuals was wonderful! I appreciated the time the presenters took to explain the complexities of Title IX. They made it easy to understand the law and our roles relating to Title IX. I loved that the training was NOT 100% lecture-based. Working on case studies in small groups provided opportunities for networking with other attendees.
