Title IX and civil rights responsibilities can quickly become complex, especially when a complaint involves significant parent or community concern, competing rights and responsibilities, overlapping legal obligations, public scrutiny, or institutional risk. Knowing when your existing systems and expertise are enough, and when additional support could make a meaningful difference, is an important part of managing that responsibility.
This session will explore how K-12 schools and districts can build the support they need around their Title IX and civil rights work. For complex or high-stakes matters, that may mean bringing in additional expertise for difficult procedural or compliance questions, independent investigations, decision-making, appeals, or program reviews. It can also mean taking a broader look at the systems behind the work, including policies and procedures, program design, role clarity, cross-functional coordination, training, and internal capacity.
