Kimberly Randell, M.D., M.S.

Kimberly Randell, M.D., M.S., is a pediatric emergency medicine physician and Director of Research for the Division of Emergency Medicine at Children’s Mercy Kansas City and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Her research focuses on supporting survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and adolescent relationship abuse (ARA) in for 19 years and emphasizes healing-centered engagement approaches that center and empower survivors. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Patient Centered Research Outcomes Institute. She is a current member of the Jackson County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to improve systems to support IPV survivors and decrease risk for intimate partner homicide. She has presented on IPV, ARA, and related topics to diverse learners for the Pediatric Academic Societies Annual Meeting, AAP National Conference & Exhibition, AAP Trauma-Informed Pediatric Provider Course, the Health and Domestic Violence Conference, and the San Diego International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment, as well as webinars for the AAP, Futures Without Violence, and the US Department of Health and Human Services.
