Peg Pennepacker has had a career in high school athletics spanning over 40 years. She has spent 36 years as a public educator in Pennsylvania beginning as a high school health and physical education teacher and athletics coach. She continued her work in K-12 education as a high school teacher/athletic director, assistant principal/athletic director and fulltime athletic director. In June 2017, Peg retired from public education and now devotes her time to assisting K-12 schools with Title IX athletics compliance and education.
Peg is a Certified Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA). In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Lock Haven University (PA), a master’s degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from West Chester University (PA) and both elementary and secondary principal’s certification from the University of Scranton (PA).
As an NIAAA National Faculty member, Peg has presented numerous clinics and workshops in the professional development program as the NIAAA Title IX course chairperson – including workshops for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Director’s Association (PSADA), the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, the Pennsylvania Business Administrators Organization as well as many state athletic director’s associations across the country.
Peg serves on the PSADA Executive Council as the Title IX consultant, and the PSADA Professional Development Committee. In addition, she has written over two dozen articles for the National Federation of State High School Association’s magazine High School Today on Title IX topic areas and currently serves on the publications committee of High School Today magazine. In addition, she has presented numerous times at the annual National Athletic Director’s Conference.
In 2003, Peg was awarded the NIAAA State Award of Merit. In March of 2007, Peg was an invited presenter at the “Girls and Women Rock: Celebrating 35 Years of Sport and Title IX Academic and Legal Conference” in Cleveland which featured keynote speakers Billie Jean King, Birch Bayh, Bernice Sandler and Marcia Greenberger. In December 2007, Peg was awarded the NIAAA Distinguished Service Award at the National Athletic Director’s conference in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2010 she received the PSADA Distinguished Service Award and in 2011 the PSADA Citation Award and received the NIAAA’s Thomas E. Fredrick Award of Excellence in 2020. In December 2022, Peg was inducted into the NIAAA Hall of Fame and in March 2024 was inducted into the PSADA Hall of Fame. She is currently a school board member in the Upper Perkiomen School District, Pennsburg, PA.
Peg has served on the ATIXA (Association of Title IX Administrators) Advisory Board since 2012.
Peg is the founder of High School Title IX Consulting Services, LLC, a consulting service focused on assisting and educating K-12 schools with Title IX athletics compliance. She continues to advocate for equal opportunities and equitable treatment for girl’s in middle school and high school athletics programs.
