Title IX Coordinator Foundations Level One: Sexual Harassment for Higher Education
Sexual Harassment for Higher Education is one of two foundational courses in ATIXA’s Title IX Coordinator curriculum for higher education practitioners. This two-day course provides foundational knowledge and skills necessary to oversee and implement policies, procedures, and practices that are compliant with Title IX and VAWA Section 304, as well as other applicable intersecting laws.
ATIXA’s expert faculty members will introduce participants to Title IX compliance oversight responsibilities and guide participants through an in-depth exploration of each stage of ATIXA’s recommended balanced approach to the Formal Grievance Process.

Title IX Investigation Foundations Level One: Procedures and Critical Skills for Higher Education
Title IX Investigation Foundations Level One: Procedures and Critical Skills for Higher Education is the initial course in ATIXA’s investigator curriculum for investigators, deputies, and Title IX Coordinators looking to acquire the fundamental skills necessary to conduct sexual harassment, violence, and sex discrimination investigations. Expert faculty members will guide participants through an in-depth exploration of each phase of an investigation as prescribed by the Title IX Formal Grievance Process, including additional relevant topics for each phase.
The concepts and investigation structure taught in this course are consistent with the 2020 Title IX Regulations and can be applied to the full range of Title IX-based allegations. Participants will examine the key components of the investigation process and the investigator’s role at each stage.

This two-day course focuses on sex discrimination compliance responsibilities including overall program assessment. This course will help practitioners address disparate treatment, disparate impact, and retaliation complaints, including targeted culture/climate assessments and investigations. The course explores common program and service areas where sex discrimination complaints originate, including athletics, and best practices for support of pregnancy and related conditions.
ATIXA’s expert faculty members will provide participants and overview of ATIXA’s recommended grievance process for sex discrimination and retaliation complaints, while sharing practical knowledge and tips to prepare participants to lead institutions through complex complaint resolutions. Participants will also examine the intersections between disability law and sex discrimination.

Participants will review a sample investigation report to guide their understanding of report writing mechanics, format, and structure. Additionally, registrants will engage in various interactive learning activities to practice their skills and receive feedback from ATIXA’s experts.
