The Experiences of Title IX Coordinators Navigating Multiple and Changing Social and Political Climates and the Impact on Campus Sexual Misconduct

This is a webinar presented by Dr. Molly C. Driessen, in collaboration with Dr. Lynette M. Renner, on preliminary findings from a research study exploring how Title IX Coordinators have navigated the multiple changing political and social contexts that impact their roles and responsibilities on college campuses. Findings indicate the immense pressure and challenges that Title IX Coordinators face in preventing, responding to, and supporting all campus members who are impacted by sexual misconduct. Too often Title IX Coordinators do not have the resources or support but are called upon to wear many, and sometimes competing, hats by senior leadership. Lastly, participants from this study shared not only insights into how they are impacted by various political and social contexts but also what recommendations they have for policy-makers, senior administrators, students, faculty, and staff, including some responses to the new rules and regulations.
