Jessica Heiser (she/her) is the Founder and Lead Attorney at Imprint Legal Group, a law and consulting group focused on compliance and culture. Imprint Legal Group is a nationwide network of diverse lawyers and consultants who have extensive training in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) and change management practices, focused on creating proactive solutions for organizations.
Jessica graduated with a B.A. with Honors from Northwestern University, earning a Legal Studies Thesis of Distinction Award for her research on affirmative action. She taught middle and high school students in Los Angeles and St. Louis, ran a private-public partnership to raise graduation rates in Indianapolis-area high schools, and earned a J.D. and Certificate in International Law from DePaul University College of Law, where she received a Benjamin Hooks Distinguished Public Service Award. While in Chicago, Jessica worked at Legal Aid Chicago, Centro Romero, and the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR). She returned to Indiana to practice education law, representing hundreds of public and private K-12 school districts, colleges, and universities across the country in the largest school law team in Indiana. She led a team ranked Tier 1 in Education Law by U.S. News. As Jessica became more interested in proactive solutions instead of reactive litigation, she earned a Master’s certificate in Leading Equity and Inclusion in Organizations from Northwestern University, and eventually left private practice after a decade to explore how inclusive organizational cultures could serve as long-term risk management.
Bringing her legal acumen and sense of humor to her dynamic public speaking style, Jessica is a frequently requested speaker on the state and national level, including the National School Boards Association, Indiana School Board Association, Indiana Council of Administrators in Special Education, and Indiana Chamber of Commerce. She is particularly sought for her expertise in sexual harassment, disability and special education, disruptive leadership, racial issues, and Title IX and LGBTQIA+ issues.
Jessica is licensed to practice law in Indiana and Illinois, and is a certified DEIJ practitioner. She volunteers her time to serve on the Indiana State Bar Diversity Committee, Indiana Supreme Court Commission on Equity and Access, National School Boards Association Title IX Advisory Group, and Youth Assistance Program Board. In 2023, Jessica was awarded the prestigious Diversity in Law Award, honoring attorneys who have shown sustained leadership in promoting diversity within the legal profession.
